Our mission is to communicate and share.
This may seem sudden, but we have an original tagline for our Runtrip Store brand that still resonates with many runners.
As runners, we realize every day that the four stripped-down elements of EAT, DRINK, SLEEP, and RUN are the "baseline of happiness" in our lives.
Original logo design for EAT, DRINK, SLEEP, RUN
In today's world where everything has been overly commercialized, wherever we go, whoever we are with, or even if we are alone, we are bombarded (from the devices we have at hand) with "I want that," "I want that," "This isn't enough"...and we are bombarded with "content" that targets our human weaknesses.
As a result, we suddenly realize that we are living with our minds and bodies buried in a huge amount of sediment. Perhaps this is how we can explain our current times. When we shed these artificial clothes one by one through running, we come to appreciate the importance, preciousness, and wonder of everyday elements such as eating, drinking, sleeping, and running. I can't help but feel that the act of "running" has the power of a very human retreat (healing).
Happiness baseline and social issues
However, it is also true that there are people who are not able to fully enjoy this "baseline of happiness." In addition to the deterioration of the global environment , the "society" we have created is also facing challenges.
Here is one example. Before we knew it, we were living buried under a huge amount of artificial sediment. Children with pure and innocent eyes before being buried under such a huge amount of sediment cannot meet the baseline of "eating (EAT)". There is data that one in seven children in Japan is currently living in poverty.
Among the many social issues, we believe there may be a way for us to support Japan's "close-to-home poverty problem" by working every day to sharpen our "sensitivity to life."
Communicate and share.
Excessive "capitalist society" continues to produce wealth disparities. Here is some symbolic data showing "income disparity." The assets owned by the world's richest 1% are worth 158 trillion yen, roughly half of the world's total assets.
From "The World After Capitalism"
There are countless such quantitative data and qualitative cries of dismay. We must first correctly understand this simple fact. To that end, I think it is important for a for-profit company like ours to continue to communicate this information correctly.
Communicate, understand, and take action.
What Runtrip Store can do. It may sound cliché, but
Providing a running lifestyle.
Provide the items needed to do so.
Many runners give us payment in exchange for the items.
Share a portion of the compensation you receive with discretion.
With this in mind, Runtrip Store has always and will continue to release items that incorporate so-called "charity" initiatives, albeit on an irregular basis.
We will have another opportunity to tell you about the specific social issues we will focus on, the recipients of our support, and the new items that will form the basis of these efforts.
Runtrip Store will continue to carry on with its mission of communicating and sharing.
