[Limited to 100 copies] The process of creating EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN/HEART.
At Runtrip Store, we feel that there is more to it than just "making and selling things." First, let me quote the premise of this post.
Please see this note for details.
If we were to eliminate the process of thinking and feeling, then for example a "blue T-shirt" would just be a "blue T-shirt" and "black pants" would just be "black pants". However, even if two things look the same at first glance, when you unravel the background, there are some that are "empty" and others that are "dense". I would like to write about the "depth" of our craftsmanship in this entry.
We share with reason and intention. What I would like to introduce today is a familiar issue called "child poverty."
Introducing the item "EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN / HEART"
Before we dive into the depth of this project, we would like to first introduce the items that will be released as "charity T-shirts."
The thoughts behind EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN
We have a tagline that is our original brand line at Runtrip Store and it still resonates with many runners.
As runners, we realize every day that the four stripped-down elements of EAT, DRINK, SLEEP, and RUN are the "baseline of happiness" in our lives.
However, it is also true that there are people who are not able to fully enjoy this "baseline of happiness." This time, the issue I'm focusing on is "child poverty."
Currently, data shows that one in seven children in Japan lives in poverty.
From those of us who enjoy a "baseline of happiness" through running to the "children" who do not. We want to deliver our thoughts in the shape of a heart. With this idea in mind, this item "EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN / HEART" was born.
Delivering "HEART" - Beyond that.
The person in charge of product development is Tomita of Runtrip, the person writing this article. I became a father in 2017, and I am now blessed to be the father of two children, living a lively and heartwarming life every day. It has become my daily routine to go to bed with my children at 9 o'clock every day, and enjoy a morning run in the morning sun before breakfast.
Living like this, I realize how miraculous and precious it is to be able to run on my own two feet, to eat delicious food every day, and to have my children's smiles waiting for me when I get home. However, as I mentioned earlier, there are people and children who are not like this.
With heartfelt gratitude for the preciousness of being able to run and eat to one's satisfaction, I want to provide the happiness of "eating a full meal" to as many children as possible. If possible, I would like to create a tangible "shape" together with all the runners and Runtrip users who share the same circumstances and sympathy.
It was against this background that the idea for "EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN / HEART" was born, the design was completed, and now it is on sale.
This T-shirt is being supported by "Table for Kids" by Yume Shokunin
A portion of sales will be donated to specific support organizations.
The mechanism itself is by no means new, and in fact it doesn't need to be. The important thing is the " why ."
The organization we chose to support this time was " Table for Kids ."
When it comes to supporting children's food, the first thing that comes to mind is " children's cafeterias ." In fact, "children's cafeterias" are found all over Japan and vary widely, from those run by specific NPOs to projects run by individuals. Therefore, it is very difficult to choose a specific "children's cafeteria" from among them in a fair manner, and we thought carefully about what we should base our selection on, without any local ties or business connections with our company. In addition, since there are no conditions for participation and anyone can participate in "children's cafeterias," they are also used as a place for town development and intergenerational exchange. This time, we were thinking of support that would focus more on "children's food."
It was at this time that I came across " Table for Kids ," run by the certified nonprofit organization Yume Shokunin. To put it simply, I felt a connection with the efforts of "Table for Kids" in the following three ways:
-
Through application and screening, we can support families who are truly in need.
-
Because it provides an "app-based system," it can be expanded nationwide (currently only in some areas).
-
It is used exclusively for meals, and the target children have the freedom to choose their menu.
Yume Shokunin itself provides an app that grants and manages a digital currency called "Kakehashi Coin." Using this app, recipient families can choose the menu items they want to eat from participating restaurants, whenever they want.
Through this project, we hope to bring smiles to as many children as possible through food through "EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN / HEART."
Logo design that conveys "HEART"
The ever-popular "EAT DRINK SLEEP RUN" from Runtrip Store has been made into a heart shape. This design was created by " Running Designer Daichi," who enjoys running every day.
