Design Story

The design this time was commissioned to illustrator Hisae, who is also a trail runner.

We asked him to draw a female trail runner with the message, "In life and in running, I prefer mountains over flat land."

It has a simple design and only one color, so it can be worn by both men and women in a variety of situations.

An encounter with fabric

The T-shirt I received at the Nikko Mountain Running event two years ago is made of my favorite fabric and I still wear it today.

Thin, light and comfortable to wear.
It also has excellent functionality, such as quick-drying and stretchability.

When I wanted to create a T-shirt that would be useful in situations where you sweat a lot, such as races, trails, and summer, the first thing that came to mind was that I wanted to make it with this fabric.

"Made in TOCHIGI" is printed and sewn at a factory in Ashikaga, Tochigi Prefecture, in keeping with the Nikko Mountain Running secretariat's desire to liven up Tochigi Prefecture.

Ashikaga City is a region that flourished as a textile industry area after the war, and the skilled craftsmanship is still deeply rooted here today, with many domestically and internationally famous fashion brands producing their products here.

The special cross-sectional structure has excellent moisture absorption and release properties, and from the moment it touches your skin, it keeps you cool and comfortable. The gentle stretch makes it easy to move around, and the collar is designed to keep its shape.
